More Ways You Can Help! Take Action

FAQs

HOW DOES WOMEN FOR ACTION  DETERMINE WHO TO INTERVIEW?

There are so many amazing women taking on remarkable challenges. We receive a lot of requests from women who wish to promote their work through Women For Action. First and foremost, we explore the potential impact of their projects- how it may positively affect as many young women and girls as possible. We enjoy ideas that are inclusive to other groups. We can't get enough of women pioneers- women who went through hurdles to  accomplish something which led to being the first at it. These efforts make tremendous impact because they inspire other women and girls to take big leaps.

WOMEN FOR ACTION STATES THAT IT INTERVIEWS WOMEN OF SIGNIFICANCE BUT I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE WOMEN LISTED ON THE WEBSITE. WHAT MAKES THEM SIGNIFICANT?

In my opinion, about 65% of the women we've interviewed have not been noted by entities such as the New York Times. Yet they have contributed groundbreaking work. They're doing global work, won Emmys and breaking tradition. They should have been recognized on a more significant scale by now. However, we are continually attempting to grow our programs. We feel that through our growth, we will be able to  elevate the work of women through different projects. For one, our Women History Makers project will enable us to exhibit some of these interviews with women in key cities to further recognize women changemakers.

WHAT SORT OF FOLLOWERS DOES WOMEN FOR ACTION HAS?

Our followers consist of leaders, educators, students, nonprofits and other businesses.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A NONPROFIT?

Our confirmation date was on  January 30, 2015. However, our nonprofit's inception date is December 3, 2013. Also, we have been on the web since 2008. Women For Action has been operating on the web for a number of years, well before we realized our work should be supported under a nonprofit organization.

WHY ARE SOME STORIES FEATURED IN BOTH ITALIAN AND ENGLISH?

We are slowing revving up our content to feature both Italian and English translations. However, we have a small team. Some stories will be featured in both categories while others will be spotlighted in one or the other. Most-importantly, we honor Italian-based stories to promote gender equality in Italy.
